We’ve had couples getting married hire us before they’ve chosen a venue. Sometimes they book us before they lock in a date. We’ve even had clients change the date of their wedding as to accommodate our schedule of availability. However, this scenario takes the cake (yes, pun intended)! It’s a first — even for us. Our services have recently been retained for a couple that will be getting married … only the bride-to-be doesn’t know it yet – because she’s not currently engaged! Yes, you’ve read correctly. We’ve been hired to provide DJ entertainment and fairly extensive ambient room lighting for a wedding taking place toward the end of 2013, yet there hasn’t even been a “Will you marry me?” yet!
So how do we know they’re getting married before she does?! Good question. Here’s the part where we get to boast a little (we’d be lying if we didn’t admit we’re very flattered). You see, this gentleman, in an old-fashioned and traditional manner, requested permission from his girlfriend’s parents to marry her. The instant the mom of this unsuspecting young lady knew a proposal was right around the corner she contacted us to retain our services. Apparently, this couple had discussed the details of a wedding “if” one were to occur in their future. At the top of the list of “must haves” (and here comes the flattering part for us) was Mittman Entertainment. The young lady’s mom wanted to get a jump on things and didn’t want to risk the chance of us not being available.
While it’s atypical, we were thrilled to accommodate the 
request and are excited to be in on this wonderful surprise proposal coming soon. From what we’ve been told, we think it’s going to be on Valentine’s Day. Does it sound like it could be you that is about to be proposed to? Could it be someone you know? We suppose you’ll just have to wait and see. Of course, we know the name of this couple – it’s a good thing we can keep a secret!
