With the assistance and exquisite taste of Catherine Gretta Affairs of Distinction, Janel & Doug’s Wizard of Oz theme wedding came to fruition on November 5th. It all began for Janel & Doug with a proposal in a hot air balloon!
The entire restaurant and ballroom at the incredible Grand Colonial was transformed into a fantasy land to appeal to all of their guests’ senses. As they entered the restaurant for cocktails, they were led down the yellow brick road by scattered movie quotes. There were delectable treats and signature drinks, whimsical memory making stations — including a wish box, a thumbprint tree, and family photos. Guests enjoyed the voice of one of our featured live vocalists performing hits from the greatest crooners of all time.
After cocktails, guests were toasted and thanked by the bride & groom and then escorted to the “Land of Oz.” The ballroom was transformed using gold chiavari chairs & graphite linens accented by gold runners spanning the length of the long tables. Enormous branches for the centerpieces designed by Sarah Petryk of Allium Floral Designs were surrounded by the muted colors of the potted weathered hydrangea’s and glistening candlelight. Mittman Entertainment, LLC provided amber LED uplighting throughout the room which lent beautifully to the ivory, sepia, and tea-stained tones. One of the hottest trends in high-end events currently is a live event painter. Joan Zylkin was there working diligently on her masterpiece capturing the essence of the night all on canvas. Steve Mittman of Mittman Entertainment, LLC hosted the evening with perfection and kept the party going strong through the entire night. The bride and groom wanted non-stop dancing and that’s what they got. Janel and Doug had their first dance as newlyweds in an elegant spotlight; their parents, brothers, and sisters all joined in towards the end. Mittman Entertainment’s Platinum Intelligent Dance Floor Lighting took the excitement to the next level. Alyssa Andrew Photography captured all the magic.
Details abounded as special dances and surprises were around every corner. Mittman Entertainment, LLC made sure every detail was covered and perfectly executed. This is just one of the things that separates us from others and proves us to be an elite level entertainment and production company.
The Wizard of Oz is considered one of the top 10 best movies of all time. Janel & Doug’s wedding will now be considered one of the top best weddings of all time!
