Saturday night was a blast from the past! The bride, Jen, is a devoted B104 listener. In fact, she could tell you better than I could what we aired on any given day! Jen and her now husband, Damian, just like myself, are huge 80s music lovers and we partied into overtime. Seriously, their guests didn’t want to stop. They screamed out for more! Entertainment was top priority for Jen & Damian and they chose right! Mittman Entertainment was their splurge and we hooked them up! Lots of 80s dance, old school hip hop, even a polka for Jen’s side of the family made for one awesome celebration. One of the many highlights of the night was Jen and her girls – Greer, Vicki, & Jessie – doing the “happy dance” to “Come On Eileen.” Greer, who is the Special Events Manager at the Cosmopolitan in Allentown and one of Jen’s best friends and bridesmaids, offered her thoughts in this video. Another memorable moment was the tears flowing on the dance floor during a particular slow song we played – happy tears, of course. I never expected this song to have that effect. It was great – that’s what makes wonderful weddings – magical moments such as that.
The day was gorgeous for their wedding at St. Thomas More. Gwen, Erin, Bob, Pat, and everyone at St. Thomas More were so great to work with and the food was unbelievable. We love the slate rock patio and garden outside the ballroom filled with ornate grasses, black-eyed Susans, colorful impatiens, and coleus – absolutely beautiful!
Jen & Damian chose to have the bridal party introductions halfway into the cocktail hour allowing all of them to partake in cocktails with their guests – something not typical, but a very cool idea if that’s what you choose. As we always tell our clients, your wedding is about you; do what you want, what makes you happy.
If Jen and Damian missed the shout out on the radio Sunday morning I can understand. After how hard they celebrated Saturday night I would be surprised if they were up before noon!
